It was Shirakawa that was in the old Boneta place. It certainly wasn't the price and location combination that shut it down. Gastown is among the most expensive neighbourhoods to eat in, it's also among the most competitive. A second location of Meet on Main is moving in to replace it.

In-n-Out has room for a lot of expansion in the USA before they even look at international expansion.

Ron, I wasn't trying to think like a corporate executive here (re: lots of room for U.S. expansion before going international etc.),....but rather like an ordinary consumer (desiring a little taste of heaven). Hence my comment that it would be nice if In-N-Out burgers were in Vancouver....! You can't deny though that relative to say a Carl's Jr., In-N-Out burgers would be generating traffic jams around their Vancouver locations.

In-N-Out coming to Vancouver is about 5-10 Years away from entering the Canadian Market but however things can change and there is already too much Competition in terms of Burger Joints like Five Guys, Vera's, Triple O's, Carl's Jr., McDonald's, Burger King, Harvey's and Wendy's.

Carl's Jr. is growing the fastest since entering the Canadian Market with about 20+ Locations by Next Year.

One big cache about In-N-Out is the extremely cheap price, which works in the States because of the very low food cost. I wonder if that would be economically feasible in Canada with the much higher costs (and Vancouver rent + labour costs).

Of interest - Toronto is getting standalone McCafes that only serve coffee, fruit smoothies, baked goods and all day McMuffins:

Wendy's on Alberni Street has closed also all logos and effects are gone.

Wendy's at this moment has no location in the Downtown Area.

Oh, really? It's not a central location but there was always people and they just re-did it. I wonder if it's going to re-open as a Burger King? Granted, there is already a A&W on that street.

I think a Burger King is earmarked for that location.

Yeah, after Burger King bought Tim Hortons, it is likely that almost all Wendy's will be changing to Burger Kings over time. Not sure what kind of contract Wendy's and Tim Hortons have been having, but it will be ending.

That's too bad as I like Wendy's a lot more than Burger King.
