I hadn't heard about this? Was this something in the media?

Edit: nm, googled it. best described a 'keyboard courage'

I think that's mostly what will happen. It'll be a trade to get rid of salary space.

At least, up till the 1980s, Canadian franchises won lots of Cups every decade. But the U.S. dollar caused Canada's economy to implode in the mid-90s, and the U,S, figured it was bad for hockey for Canadian teams to win championships at all.

So, I'm here to say it's no longer okay for anyone in the U.S. to have any knowledge about hockey. And I'm calling for the NHL to leave the U.S. for good, no matter what it does to the sport. It may sound jingoistic, but I'm fed up with the U.S. teams sponging off the Canadian franchises and living off the corporate welfare we provide and afford most of the markets in the U.S.

But then, the NHL is ONLY EVER about off-ice politics, with the on-ice product a corrupt and legally bankrupt afterthought.

All those Boston fans who had racist comment towards Ward can go **** themselves.

I can't see Phoenix beating Nashville. Chicago lost because their goaltender let in quite a few soft goals. Rinne is more solid than that.

Panthers-Devils: Devils in 5... Kovalchuk goes in beast mode
Pens-Flyers: Pens in 6... Crosby and Malkin will have some insane numbers after that series

Canucks-Kings: Canucks in 6... Quick will steal 2 games
Blues-Sharks: Blues in 7... the Sharks will wake up but Halak will eventually steal Game 7
Coyotes-Blackhawks: Blackhawks in 7... goaltending will an issue but they will outscore their problems
Preds-Wings: Preds in 6... too much depth for Nashville

What are your predictions?

I guessed 5 of the 8 teams right... and was 100% right about the Caps/Ruins series.

For Round 2

Rangers-Caps: Rangers in 6... Washington usually chokes hard so we'll see.
Flyers-Devils: Flyers in 7... only because Philly will score a lot on Brodeur

Blues-Kings: Blues in 6... the Blues are the most complete team in the NHL this season... I also predict every game ending 1-0 or 2-0
Coyotes-Preds: Preds in 5... the Preds are the second best team left in these playoffs after the Blues.

Yes, when did it become OK to nominate players for the Norris who don't actually excel at the defensive aspect of the game?

Mike Green, Karlsson...

If they want an offensive D-man trophy they should invent a new one.

Good luck to your Preds. I'd like to see them against the Blues in the conference final

SERIES 'D' 4 PITTSBURGH VS 5 PHILADELPHIA - PIT in 6 or 7

Western Conference

SERIES 'E' 1 VANCOUVER VS 8 LOS ANGELES - VAN in 6 (though if LA's scorers show up it could be much different)
SERIES 'F' 2 ST. LOUIS VS 7 SAN JOSE - STL in 5
SERIES 'G' 3 PHOENIX VS 6 CHICAGO - CHI in 7
SERIES 'H' 4 NASHVILLE VS 5 DETROIT - NSH in 7
Pretty average predictions on my part. Got the Blues-Sharks series completely right.

Round Two:

NSH-PHX (6)
STL-LAK (7)

NYR-WSH (6)
NJD-PHI (6)

Every series could go either way.

Already the 6th overtime game for Mike Smith in these playoffs. That is the most since Roberto Luongo played into 6 OT games in 2007.

And once again... Phoenix finds a way to win that game.

I wonder whats the record for OT games and wins in the playoff. My guess would be Patrick Roy with 11 OT games and 10 OT wins in 1993.

So far Mike Smith's at 6 OT games and 4 OT wins. The way these games are going, if Phoenix keeps winning as unlikely as it seems he's got a chance to match and maybe beat Roy's numbers(but obviously not the win %).

Since at least the 1980s?

And just like back then, when a D-man scores a lot of points most people assume he's no good defensively. Karlsson is a fairly good defenseman regardless. The guy has an amazing ability to hold the puck at the blue line for such a young player. It was probably the only reason OTT had a chance in games 6 and 7.

Yes, it's the record... what made it even more impressive is the fact he won 10 consecutive OT games after losing the first one.

The Flyers still found a way to outscore their problems (mainly Bryz).
