The copper on Marie-Reine-du-Monde cathedral's dome was brand new. I guess we know almost exactly how old it is now (60 years old). It is due to be restored again.

^^That's the worst thing about Fidel - his cultural appropriation of the indigenous peoples of North America. Such a jerkface...

Amazing Montreal shots from 1959, it was so developed already by then and had a real big city vibe for sure.

The Sun Life Building gets a bit lost among the more modern towers now, but damn she's big and impressive.

Downtown Ottawa from Lees Station, 1984.

Similar view in 2015, a few months before the station closed for conversion.

And March 2017 with contruction well underway. Biggest visible change, other than the station itself, is the University of Ottawa skyline on the right of Parliament.

Aside from the station changing the background didn't morph that much.

Ottawa's Montfort Hospital. Serving the francophone population since 1953 and includes the military hospital wing since 2009.

Recommended for closure by the Harris Government in 1997, the S.O.S. Montfort movement, led by Ottawa's francophone community, was quickly founded to fight the decision. In 1999, the S.O.S. Montfort wins the Ontario Divisional Court and the following appeal in 2001. (note, Harris successfully closed two hospitals in Ottawa, the Riverside, which became medical offices, and Grace, subsequently demolished).

Over the following decade, under the Dalton McGuinty Government, the hospital underwent a massive expansion.

1960 vs 2019.

Not a skyline but this photo of the Intercolonial Railway station in Halifax is pretty good for 1877. This station was destroyed in the Halifax Explosion in 1917 (it was in one of the hardest-hit areas; 60 people died when the roof of the shed collapsed).

Oh no. What a shame. Such a beautiful building.

Kind of reminds me of Montreal`s Bonvaneture station (1887-1952)

View of Victoria square and Beaver Hall street. Architetcs building and 10 storey Gaurantee Company prewar building (both demolished in the 60`s) can be seen.

Sherbrooke street 1966. Pretty much the same today, except the prewar buildings are grimy AF.
