LOS ANGELES | 717 Ninth | 395 FT / 120 M | 35 FLOORS

Location: 9th Street and Flower Street
Function: Mixed-Use | 214 Units | 6,800 SF Retail
Developer: Meruelo Maddux Properties
Architect: Mambo Architecture
Completion: 2009

717 Ninth

Developer Meruelo Maddux Properties broke ground earlier this year on a 35-story project and is on schedule and on budget, according to spokesman Michael Bustamante. A glass curtain resembling a wall of water will clothe the high-rise. The first few floors have been framed and much of the parking structure has been completed at the two-thirds-of-an-acre site adjacent to the Ralphs supermarket. Plans call for the tower at Ninth and Flower streets to contain 214 units and a 6,800-square-foot ground-floor seafood eatery. Mambo Architecture is designing the $120 million effort. Completion is slated for mid-2009.

That's some parking podium there.

I feel like all these parking podiums are working against urbanizing LA.

I understand this tower has a water fall feature. The rendering is vague on how the water feature is actually going to look. I look forward to the progression of this one to see how this water feature actually turns out.

Westside – thanks for posting the pics and keeping this thread updated. And thanks Friday for taking the pics.

That last shot is a great one showing the tower is now as tall as the Market Lofts and also showing Concerto finally out of the ground. Up, Up and Away!!!
