The reputation of skyscrapers -- all that water use! CO2 emissions! -- is pretty dim. But these towering beauties prove that green doesn't have to mean unsightly. For World Environment Day, we created a sustainable skyline of some of the most eco-friendly superstructures on the globe.

I like BoA best. They screwed up Pearl River Tower, and the Gherkin is...well...

I would say anything from Ken Yeang would be some of the greenest skyscrapers and buildings in the world. He designs everything as if he were designing a living tree.

Green is the new currency in building big, and PNC has announced a game changer in big, green architecture. The financial services group is pouring $400 million into constructing “the world’s most environmentally friendly” tower block in Pittsburgh.
