omg, this thread is still around.

well here is a small update for you:

They have installed led lighting on the north side of the podium. I don't think this was part of the original renders but I must say it looks good. The led lights are tiny blubs shining in a bright white light around the north west edge of the podium, running along the top of the podium lighting the aluminum railing.

Such a great building for Toronto. I love the clean transparency of the cladding.

WOW!... i never knew RBC was so exciting at night!....

The red doesn't look good on RBC though... it changes it's look alot by the colour... and if the sun was out red+green=BLAH!.... but at night it's ok.

RBC is to bright for its own good!!

I just can't get over how stupid that "horn" looks on top of the building.

I can appreciate the architect not wanting another bland, featureless vertical box but that roof just looks ridiculous. I think it would have looked a lot better with another horn on the other side.

YES the "spike" at the top of the building makes it look a little off balance BUT another horn on the other side would look really weird... IMO

I like the lantern, I just find it far too obtrusive lit up in the night aerial below. If Toronto was filled with bright colourful light at night time, this addition would fit in much better.

100% agreed with you! ^

RBC's lantern is WAAAAYY to bright in contrast to the rest of the skyline..

Especially right now... RBC's interior lights are FULLY lit up making it WAY too bright compared to the rest of the skyline... (i think cause people are still moving in cause it's a new building... hopefully this is just temporary...)

For example...
