Please tell me there are plans for a new Dinsmore bridge

1 lane in each direction, especially with all these upcoming projects, just isn't going to cut it

RG Updates

Just took these pictures today.

Foreground is the next phase being built for River Green just to the east of the Olympic Oval. Onni Ora development in the right background with the cranes:

Phase 1 of RG:

Dyke being ripped up in front of Phase 1 to be replaced by...who knows. Something nice I imagine:

Ponds and plants in between the building of Phase 1:

Small site west of Phase 1 where pile driving is nearly complete. I guess it will be another 12 story building like the rest:

What an absolute hodge podge the last picture is

Why can't we have the basic amenities like sidewalks installed BEFORE the project is finished. Why are they always built as an after thought.

Probably because there weren't any there to begin with and if built before, they would get damaged during construction and would have to be rebuilt.
i.e. in downtown Vancouver, new sidewalks are not replaced until after the buildings are finished and the hoardings removed.

Sidewalks are not a given. There are many residential areas within Vancouver that do not have sidewalks or only have them on one side of the street.

That true, it's amazing how Vancouver which places pedestrians first has so many streets still missing sidewalks, some only meters from skytrain stations. The previous councils seemed to push sidewalk expansion more then the current council is. Back onto topic, I guess it's just me but I really like the way this project is turning out.

Thats not the reason

The whole area is planned to have sidewalks, but the city leaves it up to the developer to install them. Meanwhile the public is left with nothing until the developer finally decides to build them. Absolutely shameful how to whore our land out to developers and let them do whatever they want. Take a walk past any development in the US, basic street amentities like sidewalks and light posts are always the FIRST thing to be built.

Why would the developer build sidewalks, which will get damaged during construction and have to be rebuilt, along a development where there was previously nothing and there will be no foot traffic until the development is finished? To appease libtard?

Yah, I'm not sure I understand what the deal is. Are these sidewalks supposed to be used while a massive construction zone is in progress right next to it? Who would ever use it in that area? There's a dyke to walk on.

First Phase Occupancy

First phase of occupancy has been pushed back to September, as common areas will not be considered to be substantially complete and the city will not issue occupancy permits (original move in day was supposed to be end of April, and more recently July). This is for the 3 most west towers.

Occupancy was supposed to be 3 months later for the east towers, but my guess is that occupancy will be given almost simultaneous for the entire phase one project.

Anyone else think its strange how the olympic oval doesn't include the union jack in the line of flags facing the dike? I mean its in the name of our province for crying out loud. British Columbia
