Random Vietnam photos

Feel free to post any photos you've taken or found (with proper crediting, of course) of Vietnam.

Enjoy!

Recently took a trip to Nha Trang which, as you can see, is about an hour's flight north-east of Ho Chi Minh City.

Most people go there for the beach, so, obviously, that's the subject of the following photos.

Great pics! I haven't been to VT in years. It's a nice spot. Might go back soon.

A couple pics from my recent trip to Phu Quoc Island which, inexplicably, is part of VN. Notice it's just off the coast of Cambodia. How Phu Quoc came to be in Vietnamese hands is somewhat confusing, so I'll just leave it at that.

People go for the beach.

Lots of wonderful natural sites on Phu Quoc but public access to these places is largely restricted. Here's a little river.

I thought Phu Quoc would have more torquoise water than the east coast beaches of Vietnam but in those pics, the waters does not look too clear.

^I don't remember, frankly. It was quite stormy when I was there so that may have affected the water clarity.

I'm trying to think of a beach I've visited in VN that has that gorgeous turquoise water. Not sure...

Cat Tien National Park, Viet Nam

Just got back from Cat Tien National Park located just north of Ho Chi Minh City. I'd heard varying reports on the quality of the park for years, so I finally decided to settle the debate myself and have a look - beautiful.

Despite almost total decimation during the war - Agent Orange, primarily - and threats from traditional medicine and the bush meat trade, wildlife endemic to the area has persisted. Yes, the tiger, leopard and rhino are gone, like in so many other parts of the world, but birds, gibbons, monkeys and much more thrive within the park boundaries.

Enough talk - here are a handful of my photos.

Don't use Photobucket, ruining the photos.
