You know I'm right. That's why, once again, you chose to target the messenger than the message.

I walk by it every day and am still always staring up at it like a tourist. The diamond pattern does two thing very well:

It makes it look amazing at sunset as the light is catching it from the west.

It helps offset the transparency that even the best curtainwall experiences at peak sun. A flat facade like Bay Adelaide can look rather lacklustre if the lighting is wrong.

With the diamond pattern, there's always a portion that's reflecting in a much more flattering way and drawing attention away from those that aren't.

Looks so good. We missed out on some good office towers in this boom. Catch up time.

CIBC Square will go down as one of the best looking commercial projects built in Canada in the past 25 years. Beauty is 90% subjective so some may argue against it Im sure, but I think most would agree it deserves to be mentioned as a contender. I can't wait to see both towers finished and all lit up in the skyline. It will be stunning. I have a strong feeling these two beauties will become my fav office tower in YYZ , ousting Scotia Plaza.

I also really like Brookfield Place in YYC as well as Telus Sky. CIBC Square will stand among those.

I know it's a bit off topic, but that's interesting. A 90:10 ratio. What are your views on the 10% non-subjective portion?

It will be tough for anybody to de-throne Mies TD Centre for me.

CIBC is amusing and engaging photogs every day already (wonder what the pic count is).

I said somewhere it could have the 2nd best glazing since RBC (still the champ imo).

Will indeed be a most welcome shiny bauble but Scotia and TD are iconic.

It's hard to tell in this photo but it looks like they are almost ready to lay down the decking to pour the ground floor. I'd say by next weekend the ground floor will be poured.
