2 of our tallest buildings are not simply boxes and our skyline has much more variation in styles and colors. They have a bunch of bland 70s/80s towers that could easily be mistaken for anonymous high rises in any western or southern city.

He's the same guy who thinks Detroit is like New York, so I wouldn't take any criticism of Philly from him seriously.

Philly has a great skyline.

Anyone who has an appreciation for architecture or history will realize that Philly has a skyline that spans over a century of different architecture styles. It has character, and aesthetically, is very balanced.

I don't think you're looking at the same skyline the rest of us are looking at. I see lots of pointy pyramidal things with spires on top too.

Okay Dr. Jackle, or are you Mr. Hyde now?

You seem to change your tune with the flip of a coin, but I've already learned that you're a slimly one a long time ago.

You're also wrong, never said Detroit is "like" NYC. I don't see what the point is of putting down Houston's skyline when it's a flat out lie, Houston has old skyscrapers just like Philly does. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.

And you can also fuck off, stop chiming in on my conversations, thanks. My opinion is as relevant as anyone else's.

I'm not sure if you're looking at the same skylines either, Houston has the "pointy pyramid" buildings that Philly does, if that's all that it takes to make a good skyline.

Houston lacks the multitude of eras that Philadelphia's skyline has. Unless you don't appreciate different styles/materials/etc. Also if we are looking at silhouettes of each cities skyline, it is clear which one is more varied.

and you can't even see the most unique aspect of our city in that picture, city hall, which is one the best designed buildings in the world. show us Houston's 600ft that took 17 years to build by masonary?

Also there was mention of a pyramid building. If he talking about the pyramid club I am not seeing it. If he was talking about the Bell Atlantic building, thats way more 30 rock than that glass thing in houston.

I personally think that Philly's skyline is denser and more diverse than Houston's and overall more attractive. That doesn't mean that Houston's can't be great too though. It doesn't have that dense, urban Northeast skyline feel or look but it does have its far share of unique and good-looking buildings. As a bonafide skyline enthusiast, I appreciate the skylines of both successful American cities.
