All Around Brazil (100 pics)

Earlier this year I spent 2 months traveling throughout Brazil. It's one of the most captivating and seductive countries I've ever been to. Like in the US, its geographical, climatic, and demographic diversity are truly a huge draw and Brazil's showcase: from the Germanic heritage rampant throughout the south to the African drumbeats echoing throughout colonial towns in the north. Here are a 100 snippets from my adventures in this intoxicating, vivacious land. I will certainly be back soon.

Places photographed: Rio Grande do Sul, Foz de Iguazu, São Paolo, Paraty, Trinidade, Rio de Janeiro, Ouro Preto, Salvador, Chapada Diamantina, Recife, Fernando de Noronha, Lençóis Maranhenses.

Those sand dunes by the water remind me of the ones in Michigan. Brazil is a gorgeous country.

Thanks ... those were from the Lençóis Maranhenses, in northern Brazil, close to Sao Luis. I trekked for 2 days there with a guide and it was definitely the highlight of my time in Brazil.

Awesome, awesome photography!!!

At first, when I saw those photo's of sand dunes, I was confused, as I never thought of a desert-like area being anywhere in Brazil, and I assume these were all taken near a shoreline somewhere.

#83: What an awesome mural!!!

My early travels, immaturely, I only flew to the big cities, and my later travels, I skipped the big cities, and headed out to the more small or mid-sized cities. I've done a lot of that in South America, but not Brazil. Embarrassed, I can say I've only been to Rio!

Thanks everso much!
