Given its location, right next to lair hill park, under armor , duniway park, the PSU business accelerator, downtown, and most likely the future location of a sw corridor max line and people mover up to Marquand hill, it is really unfortunate that this won't have ground floor retail.

This morning City Council approved a zone change that will allow one further story to be added to the Under Armour building (the design is already approved by Design Commission).

Exclusive: A first look inside Under Armour's new Portland office

There's no question where you are when you walk into Under Armour's new office: A large "PDX Campus" sign greets visitors just inside the front door, featuring an outline of Mt. Hood and flanked by a street map of Portland.

Its design reflects the Portland, and mirrors the design strategy Under Armour has employed in its locations. Its global headquarters, in urban Baltimore, fittingly features a lot of natural brick. Its Austin location, in a former power plant, features a lot of metal. And Portland? Exposed wood, natural light and views of nature.
...continues at the Portland Business Journal.

I love the new UA building. (Full disclosure, I worked on it for a few hours when I was at Bora). The thing I can't believe that I haven't seen more about, is that Boora designed the original building forty years ago. Bora renovated the exterior of the building, with Lever doing the interior. I think that it is really wonderful that the same firm managed to revive a significant Portland building decades after they designed it the first time.

Its an improvement over the initial proposal, which is definitely not always the result of Landmarks Commission feedback.

I didn't know if any updates were posted for these two projects in Riverplace so I'm posting them here.
