Some pictures from yesterday, 2013 February 14th, from the hills of Cerro del tío Pío park, in Vallecas district. I think at this park you can get the most amazing pictures of Madrid´skyline.

You will notice the pollution in the horizon. These days we´re under high pressures, without winds and with mild temperatures to be in the mid of February, something usual in Madrid. Yesterday we reached between 59ºF and 61ºF (15ºC-16ºC).

Hope you enjoy.

Torrespaña TV tower (721 feet/220 m) and Cuatro Torres in the background.

Azca financial area. In the middle is Torre Picasso (492 feet/150 m). Sierra de Guadarrama in the background.

Torre de Madrid, Edificio España and Torre Telefónica over Retiro park trees.

Méndez Álvaro. In the background Carabanchel neighbourhood.

Azca financial area. You can observe the snow covering the sierra.

Torrespaña and Cuatro Torres Business Area.

Torre Retiro, residential building. (262 feet/ 80 m)

Carabanchel neighbourhood and Gómez Ulla Hospital in the background.

On the left: Torres de Colón (380 feet/ 116 m)

Madrid´s center from the hills of the park. You can observe La Almudena Madrid´s Cathedral dome.

In the middle: Torre de Valencia, a residential building (308 feet/ 94 m)

Vallecas´ roofs, Méndez Álvaro and Villaverde neighbourhood.

Atocha station, San Francisco El Grande dome. In the background Casa de Campo, the largest park in Madrid, and Pozuelo de Alarcón, a town beside Madrid.

A good place to rest and observe the city.

Méndez Álvaro business area and Carabanchel district. In this shot you can see a high speed train leaving Madrid.

Vallecas neighbourhood and downtown.

In the middle of this pic: Reina Sofía Museum, beside Atocha station.

Torre Retiro and Torres de Colón.

Méndez Álvaro and Villaverde district.

On the left: Torres Kio or Europa´s Gate (374 feet/ 114 m)

Retiro´s park and the tower of the City Hall appearing over the trees, on the left side.

Azca financial center. In the background: Cabezas de Hierro mountain (7.818 feet/ 2.383 m)

Greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Thanks, wonderful pics! I'm curious to know what the big boxy building in #11 down (with the blue and green lights on its surface), the one under the heading "More views from home. 2013 Jan 3rd" is? My guess: a sports complex? (probably wrong)

Thanks, gothamite!

You´ve very good intuition. That big boxy building, as you say, is Madrid´s Palacio de Hielo (Madrid´s Ice Palace), a shopping center with cinemas, restaurants, gym, shops and an ice rink (olympic dimensions) which works from September to the end of May. It´s about 5 minutes away walking from home. It´s a very crowded leisure zone in this side of the city.

Love the views. Those long exposure shots done in the blue hour are some of my favorites out of this set!

Looks dense as heck in most of those pics. Love the mountains in the background. Thanks for sharing your city Danny.

Thanks for your last comments. I´m always glad to read them.

Yesterday we visited the works of the new neighbourhood of Valdebebas, in the northeaster side of Madrid. We´ve bought a 3 bedrooms flat or condo there, which we´ll begin to enjoy by the end of this year. This new neighbourhood is very close to Barajas Airport terminal 4, where I work. We enjoyed a very sunny and pleasant Sunday morning.

I hope you enjoy. Any comment is always well received.

In the background, Sierra de Guadarrama, Madrid´s sierra. It still keeps plenty of snow thanks to the rainy, snowy in the sierra, end of the winter and beginning of the Spring.

In this white & gray building will be our home.

A detail of the interior side works in our building.

Finally, a general view of our future residence.

Greetings from Madrid, Spain!

I really like the sleek and matte look of the PwC building and the high-rise next to it.
