I guess "Alexan" was too close to "Ardea" for comfort.

"Riva"? "Whatever"!

Wyatt + Asa + Ardea + Ladd + Riva + Belmont 2121 + near future Tupelo + Cyan + further future 20th & Hawthorne + Matisse (SoWa) + Enso, etc, etc = a huge glut of rental apartments on the market. This will hurt everyone except those in the market for a cheap rental apartment.

↑ This is a bad thing? A larger selection of apartments (price, quality, etc.) for those seeking apartment living?

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about it as I intend on moving downtown or the pearl this fall, and hopefully by then prices will fall a fair bit.

That almost looks like it’s one building! Probably because the brick and metal panels are very similar colors ...

I’m finding that the additional height and round shapes aren’t providing the visual variety that I hoped they would. I guess it’s because *all* the buildings are about the same height, so none of them individually ends up looking tall or slender. And because even the buildings with rounded floor plates look rectangular in profile ...

no you're right, I didn't mean for that to sound like it was bad for everyone. It's fantastic for those in the market to rent or buy, myself included

The website is updated and now has floor plans, model unit pictures, and virtual tours. Still no prices though. They are also listed on Apartment Finder and Apartment Guide.

They are working on landscaping the walkway outside of the ground floor units below the parking garage. Looks like a plus to these units is that they will have a large deck area outside of their front doors.

I hope for the sake of those tenants the exhaust tubes behind the wood siding is sucking outside air in, and not blowing 3 levels of parking exhaust fumes out and down on to your door entry.

Riva on the Park is starting to post ads on Craigslist for their units. $1050 for a 488 sq ft studio - kind of pricey if you ask me, especially since you can rent a 638 sq ft condo for $1095 at the John Ross.

WoW, $1050 for a less than 500sq foot studio. Why would you pay that?

I like this building, but I find it odd how the HVAC unit, or whatever that thing is on top, looks like it was just dropped there. Nothing to hide it or make it blend in.

For this exact reason I'm glad that my unit in the Ardea is just below the roof line of the Alexan so that I can't see it. Higher up floors will look directly at that thing. It seems like they wouldn't have been allowed to just plop the HVAC thing on the roof like a giant jet engine sticking out of the top. Does anyone know if they plan on covering it up with some sort of screen like 937 has or something else?

I've been waiting for them to enclose the rooftop mechanicals too, but as they near completion and look ready to open, it doesn't look like that's going to happen. How did this happen?

Those sure are depressing numbers for someone looking to move downtown/the pearl/sowa this fall.

^ if it makes you feel any better you can get a decent 2 br unit 1 block from Pioneer Square for $995. Only catch is you would be required to post updates of PAW!

That might be an income restricted property

That seems too far below market for a 2 bedroom. It is probably an income restricted apartment.
