New design for the new hotel besides the fox.
That looks a lot better than before. I do wish they could maybe add a spire at the top corner just to add some sophistication.

That is much better.

Let's hope the five levels of parking blend in with the rest of the facade.

Speaking of which, I’m really gutted by the looks of Hanover Midtown, that giant box of a parking deck really looks awkward to me. I’ll reserve judgment till the project is completed, but right now I’m not diggin it.

Spires on building less than 30 stories just look ridiculous. Maybe a glass triangle similar to the proposed Baccarat hotel in Buckhead. Actually this proposal would have been a perfect fit for this site.

I'm talking something like this:

I think it would work really well with the material they're using, but I still like the new design...very classy.

That's not a spire - that's a Nubbin. It's like saying my French bulldog, WT, has a tail. She doesn't have a tail, she has a nubbin.

Quarry Yards - West Midtown (Updated Rendering)

This is an amazing development. West Midtown is absolutely on fire.

I hope phase 2 is on some sort of grid. I'm not really a fan how the streets are laid within the development. Very awkward. The designs of the building and park is nice though.

The streets are limited to the perimeter of the development with curb cuts to each building. The streets you see in the interior of the project are walking paths. I actually really like it and it is still functional at the same time.

From a design perspective it would be a lot better if they straightened out the western developments to be in line with the grid. That way it would extend nicely to phase 2 and Donald Lee Hollowell and be more inviting from Bankhead Station. A lot of people have been buying homes around the other end of Proctor Creek trail. I will be shocked if this whole area isn't completely transformed in 15 years.

Are they keeping the historic building on the site?

Ok, well with that kind of response you can make any suggestion ridiculous.
