Depends how long it takes to pay for itself. A decrease in construction and suddenly there is a surplus rusting away in a yard. I guess all those that migrated up here from the US have gone home.

What a dick - hope he's getting charged. Really don't think we should be promoting illegal and dangerous activities like this

Ya he is, but it's done and there are some cool behind the scenes shots. I'm surprised urbantoronto doesn't have somebody going to these sites and being taken on legit tours.

That guy is pretty stupid though, it would be very easy for them to slap him with a trespassing charge.

Definitely agree that we should not be posting these videos promoting these activities. He doesn't have to injure himself or someone else to cause problems.

I'm more surprised how many tours urbantoronto.ca does conduct. It's certainly not as easy as showing up and knocking on the door.

They only ever seem to show up when a building is nearing completion. And they have been doing it much less frequently then they used to.

To me, it's too much of a liability on your insurance and contractor's license to parade urbantoronto around a half built, active construction site. There has to be an incentive. They probably saw urbantoronto as a means to promote condo sales. It didn't pan out if the number of tours have slowed.

Kinda funny how the occupants of CIBC Square will look down and see two giant Scotiabank logos on the arena.

Hmm. Did Scotiabank by the rights before or after the announcement of CIBC Square? You're right. It's the first thing a frustrated CIBC employee will see as they ponder jumping through the window.

That looks incredible. I reallllly hope that it doesn’t suffer the fate of so many of our other LED strip lighting features. Hopefully their contingency fund is well stocked.

Was thinking the same.......

Thinking also of what the replacement procedure will be to replace them when they fail.

Some already look burnt out in the photo unless it’s part of a light show or something.

This looks great. It's much better than the multi-coloured programmed animations.

The fact theres a decent sized office component would bode well for the maintenance/eventual replacement of the LEDs.

I imagine the exterior work; window washing, facade maintenance, etc. Would be covered under the same management contract.

Yeah I suppose so. Hopefully mixed use bodes well for the maintenance. Plus Telus attaching their name to the building itself will hopefully be an extra incentive to keep everything top notch.

I would never want to be responsible for maintaining a complex LED installation such as this. It screams money loser.
