edit: yay my computer decided to turn on this morning
I'll just wait. By the time you turn 26, you'll realize that looking like an 18 year old forever is impossible, give in to your desire to stop shaving, buy some shitkickers and stock up on flannel shirts and overalls. Voilà: Canadianization complete!

Poor things are simply putting up a facade. My workboots actually get used at work and are pretty scuffed up after only a month. The reflective markings have totally worn off. And my plaid shirt is pretty wrinkly because I don't know how to dress myself. That part of the gay gene didn't attach itself to my DNA, apparently.

Yeah I don't know maybe it is a weird thing for a gay. But it isn't for straight males acting gay comparing beards.

Here there are lots of segregated "bear" bars under overpasses and in between rail yards and industrial areas and shit. It's sad they feel they have to hide their hairyness from the mainstream gay scene which seems coiffed and stuff. Or whatever.

I just know because I needed a drink after work once. Apparently there is some kind of rift/tension/attraction. Kind of like how I like black women but in the gay world.

It's not a matter of hiding from the mainstream gay scene. Bears who gather in bear bars don't want mainstream manicured, coiffed, and preening twinks intruding on their scene.

I kind of guessed that. Maybe it's kind of like sports or uptight straight mainstream hookup bars vs indie rock bars or punk rock bars or regular neighborhood everyone is welcome bars.

maybe I am over thinking it.

It does seem like there is a big rift here between the different kind of places, to be sure. I sensed that.

The coiffed gay bars are now intermingling with the mainstream (well indie) bars, while the bear bars kind of stay out in the wilderness.

There is a fairly intense enmity between bears and non-bears. They're both offended that the other doesn't find them attractive. It's silly, and it's starting to slowly disappear with the younger generation. We've been relegated to the world of "consumer groups that we can make money off of by catering to", along with virtually everyone else.

I don't know there is a midwestern thing where when everyone is "asleep" you climb on over the bodies with kind of a tongue lapping. Lutheran or Catholic, of course.

It's kind of a digital display from the future.

He's leaving his fiance in the trailer park, getting settled here, and sending for her in 3 or 4 months. Might be tough getting a job however. He had a DWI in 2008 and lost his license. Then in 2009 when he was 18 he was arrested and charged with 5th degree assault.

He's really a good kid. Just made bad choices. He will be staying at his mom's mom's house not too far from where I live. He will stay with us on the weekends. Almost like visitation! I'm getting excited. My wife and I are expecting a baby in May. Hoping that his kid brothers will be an incentive to get his shit together. Hopefully he won't drive me crazy with his Minnesota dialect/accent. Yah!
Nevermind. He's staying in Minnesota and going to live with his mom in Brainerd. Oh well. I was hopeful.
