"We're excited to announce that we will be transitioning over 27,000 square feet of Royal Brick Works into rental units! With the bottom floor already leased to a restaurant (which we will be announcing soon!) the proposed development plans will take into consideration the needs and wants of potential tenants, both commercially and residentially. Read more about this announcement in the newest edition of the Downtown Hamilton Business Improvement Area newsletter, which you can get your hands on September 1"

Announced today on Royal Brick Works Facebook page.

Excited to be avoiding the calamitous expense of adding a 5,000 square foot glass-ceilinged penthouse "that might find use as a spa or health club." (That was so four months ago.)

Will be interested to see the next set of "what could be" renders.

We can expect the same for any Proposed Treble Hall developments. Seems such a shame that it will be turned into apartments and not a public venue.
We appear to have one core group of people capitalizing on the Hamilton's Commercial real estate. Yoke Group, Red Brick Rentals, and Ambitious Realty are all in bed together and the main goal is profit over people. I find their developments highly uninspiring and difficult to support.

The single floor Saigon House is already very misplaced on that block, and will only become more-so.

I suspect that the reason why this appears to be the Royal Court in a different colour way is that the project was sold as a plug-and-play development.

Any substantial re-visioning of the building would probably entail lengthy delays of the sort that inspired earlier owners to cut and run.

The decision to switch from "a winning plan for modern offices and commercial space" to rental apartments is presumably also a pragmatic way of obtaining closure.

$2.5 mill for a building that doesn't even have a roof right now and is totally open to the elements. seems legit

It isn't currently for sale. Yoke Group & Red Brick are still developing. In fact, they've just gotten final plans back from their architect (source, I know people yo)

To clarify: The Colliers image is of a pre-Ambitious prospectus.

What is happening with this project? And I don't think there is a roof on it yet. A year or more without a roof.

Maybe demolition by neglect!

Sign still says "20% Leased" so it's probably on hold until they get more tenants.
