The best pho in the city could be this place. Although Jenny will sometimes feel the urge to charge you and your friends $2 per glass of water, or tell you that the "pho has been sold out" during a lunch rush - depending on her mood of course.
Could also put up Narayanni's to the list, located just off Whyte. Most Indian restaurants in the city (and really western Canada) are primarily north Indian/Punjabi. This place is owned and operated by South African Indians (the same people who used to own Block 1912). South African Indian cuisine is different, and I'd argue a lot more flavorful and sophisticated than just being heavy, oily and spicy.
