Yes, in 2020, because the Google battery backup was their first installation, they had a diesel generator as well. Since then they've expanded the battery capacity, and they're using it to balance the grid as well. The intention is to replace the diesel generators in all their facilities by 2030.
There are dozens of businesses working on battery storage systems, including flow batteries, so I'm not surprised there's one here. I'm sure generators will be obsolete in the medium term, and maybe sooner.
