Movie/Television Shoots in Hamilton

So considering Hamilton has become "Hollywood North" thanks to tax-exemptions for those filming outside of Toronto, I thought it'd be neat to have a thread dedicated to what's being shot in Hamilton and area.

Between Wed Nov 27th & Thu Nov 28th, I saw a film crew set up (again) at the Royal Connaught.
They were filming a TV Miniseries called XIII.

No offence Hamilton, but I'm pretty sure Vancouver is considered Hollywood North.

But damned if that ain't a list to trump all lists, though!

Good list...but never once have I heard Hamilton considered as "Hollywood North." I think that title is reserved for Vancouver.

I'd love to see some sort of ranking of films/shows shot in Canadian cities....would be neat to see.

Though it doesn't have the official title, if you lived here you'd agree with it. Nearly every week for the past year there has been a movie shot going on somewhere downtown. At one point there was 3 different productions being shot simultaneously in the core this summer (Hulk, TD bank commercial and something else). This of course isn't even counting the rest of the city.

I'd be interested to see what the city is making from all of this...

It's been a boon for Steeltown where last year alone, about 100 productions shot on location in and around the city.

This is somthine else last summer:

And they recently filmed a Christmas movie of some sort downtown, I think it had Vince Vaughn in it.

Wow, those are some awesome shots from Flickr, Steeltown!!!
I think it's important to note that almost none of those smaller shop-like buildings actually exist. They are all film set that took about 3 weeks to set up.
I watched some of those scenes from the Ramada/Plaza Hotel's 2nd storey parking garage and saw a car explode and fly almost all the way from Catherine to John!! SOOO kewl!!

There's a notice in my lobby from 20th Century Fox saying they're going to be shooting MAX PAYNE in the James, King, King William, and Rebecca area. They're going to be using that dark and scary alleyway on the east side of James between King William and King, also shooting outside Lister, something about creating some fake snow, also police and traffic control something something.

Max Payne eh. Mark Wahlberg stars in that.

Between The Big Hit, Four Brothers and the upcoming Max Payne - I guess we'll know early if a movie will be filmed in Hamilton based on whether Wahlberg's in the film or not.

I don't believe there were any street scenes from the movie in Hamilton. It was all mostly the high school scenes shot in Hamilton.
