ah ok just checking
The suburbs are second-rate. Cookie-cutter houses, treeless yards, mediocre schools, and more crime than you think. Do your family a favor and move closer to the city.

Nice photos - you covered a lot of ground, and I see you made it to the Mattress Factory. Pittsburgh will always feel like a second home to me - a truly unique place.

That said, it's a bit amusing because I know where the shots take place, and you're freely mixing and matching which shots are from the North Side, South Side, Lawrenceville, Downtown, East Liberty, etc. Thus there's a lot of potential context for the shots that's missing, and I can't help but wonder what an outsider who hasn't even seen the city except in photo sets like these would think in terms of "imaginary geography."
Sometimes I find that fun though. I'll often challenge myself to find the picture on Google Maps/Street View. Some are easier than others but it makes me feel like I am "touring" the city from the comfort of my home.

Also, this one really reminded me of the Ghostbusters building!

Awesome set of photos. You covered serious ground in 1 weekend. I thought these were the culmination of your first month or year here...
There's lots of great stuff happening in this city. Plenty of room for growth too.
The new Pittsburgh development thread is up.
