Rugby Canada has announced a deal to keep the popular Rugby Sevens tournament in Vancouver for at least four more years.

The news comes as BC Place gears up to play host to the 2019 event, one of 10 stops on an international circuit, for its fourth consecutive year.

Under the terms of the deal, Vancouver will host the tournament until at least 2023.

^ That's good news! It's not a sport that I'm into, but it's great to have international-caliber sports in Vancouver and a multi-year commitment is fantastic.

This is a fantastic event and a big party. You don't have to be into rugby, this is an entertaining format regardless.

Exactly. I went last year and had a blast, and I'm not into rugby. The carnival atmosphere of the stadium was more than enough entertainment even without the game itself.

Calling the vendors a carnival is a bit of a stretch, methinks.
