I have no idea. We haven't been mentioned in local media for months. It's just, all of a sudden, three new guys popped up and two old ones came back.

I'm not complaining. It's nice to have somewhere to discuss local issues without being accused of being "temporary" because I rent an apartment and "communist" because I "don't pay taxes".

So I was just texting a friend, and I was typing "drunk-texting" into my phone. It didn't come up as an acceptable word, but "drunk-textile" did, as well as "drunk-rectum".

14 degrees/-10C right now. I knew living in a neighborhood where there's a bar every two blocks would make me a bit of an alcoholic. Just remember two words if you're up in NE Mpls: cash only. Otherwise you learn the hard way like I did and have to go bar hopping sober until you hit one up that accepts cards: seems to be a 50/50 chance off the top of my head. Exploring new bars is usually interesting (sometimes not so much) and I can always go to my neighborhood staple if I need good random conversations and a couple microbrews. Hell, I biked in this weather today and even a few locals today gave me kudos to this Columbus transplant for cycling in this weather. I did cheat a bit with bus rides, but I did bike from 5th and Nicollet up to 13th Ave NE: 18 blocks+ the wide-ass Mississippi.

South St. Louis has a lot of cash only bars too. Always wanted to hit NE MPLS, pretty much only been in a few bars downtown and a few walkable from the light rail on the south side.

I haven't had a drink in weeks. I'm spending December rebuilding my body (running and lifting weights) after months of abuse working on the road, and bad eating and bad drinking. I can't freakin' wait until December 31st for that beer...can't wait for for some pizza or fried stuff, either. I've been only eating fish and baked chicken with brown rice and vegetables for 2 weeks. I pop a dark chocolate when I think I'm going to loose it and order a pizza or something...Friday/Saturday nights are hard, sucks sitting in...

You might as well just go temporarily vegan: you'll eat much better. Just lay off the veganaise and earth balance veggie butter both chock full of tasty fat. (This is coming from an omnivore, btw)

I thought about it, but I don't feel like trying to replace fish and chicken protein beyond supplementing it with whey. I'm also hitting the weights pretty hard, including squats which of course take a lot out of you. I'm basically eating a Mediterranean diet, which makes you feel pretty great as long as you keep the good fat levels high enough through lots of olive oil and tree nuts. So I'm eating a little more than what I said, but all whole grain or otherwise good stuff.

I just set the sweater that I'm wearing on fire by accident over a candle. My goodness I am a grade A klutz! I'm surprised that it caught on fire so fast since its 100% cotton and doesn't contain any polyester.

^I've used that before. Kinda brings the conversation to a standstill, but its fun to watch the other person's reaction.

I'm only sharing this with you all because you put up with my bullshit better than most people, but (and I don't fully agree with the diagnosis) I've been diagnosed with PTSD because of my illnesses/hospitalizations as a child. Anyone have any experiences with EMDR? I've got a counselor and psychiatrist insisting I undergo the therapy ASAP.

That sucks! Unfortunately, as usual, I have no useful medical advice (except to ask if you've considered suing the deep-pocketed doctors who may have caused your PTSD? [/scumbag\)
