121 St. Joseph’s Drive | Ovation Condos | 11fls | Approved

An eleven storey, seventy unit contemporary condo is being developed by the "Molinaro Group" on 121 St. Joseph’s Drive, near St. Joseph’s Hospital as well as steps from the vibrant and historical Durand area at the base of the escarpment.

The "Ovation" will replace a smaller decayed apartment building which was demolished in 2007 and is set to be completed in the Fall of 2013.

The renderings so far, seem relatively bland and effortless, but hopefully the project will spark an interest in the area for further development.

Feel free to browse the links below for more information and the rendering:

If any of you who read this can get some photos up, that would be great. Thanks.

Right now the site is just an empty sloped field.

Ugh!

Looks like a plain old cinder block and brick soviet era bunker.

Hopefully that render is not doing it justice.

The Molinaro Group website was updated and Ovation Condos has been completely removed from the site. It looks like this might be cancelled.

What happened to this project? I can't seem to find any information online about it.

Based on the title of this thread, Ovation Condos for 11 floors at 121 St. Joseph's Drive was approved by the City but it seems like the Molinaro Group cancelled the plans since this project can no longer be found on their website. If it was indeed cancelled, I wonder why...

Anyone have any updates?

I live on this block in another apartment building and there's basically been no activity that I've seen for well over a year.

I am very curious what happened. Hopefully, someone has some information on this project since it seemed to disappear quietly...

As I mentioned, it's still on the Renew Hamilton website but they don't seem to update their featured development pages often.

Anyone with any information at all regarding this project?

With the number of new projects downtown along with the consumer demand for housing plus shortage of supply, I figured this would be a no-brainer for the Molinaro Group especially since plans were approved. Is it anything against the market specifically within Corktown area where this condo building would have been developed?
