Interesting that the city approved that much parking in this project on THE major transit throroughfare. I guess that was in an earlier era.

BTinSF let us know 11 years ago that the entire complex would consist of 1,900 apartments with 1,400 parking spaces.

Trinity Place IV - June 20, 2018

There is now an amazing amount of tubular bracing on two levels now. This view is two blocks from my apartment in the Fox Plaza with a telephoto lens.

I know, which is why I reminded him of what he had posted. It never hurts any of us to look back as we move forward.

Wow, I never put that together.

But now that I know, it makes perfect sense.

I think there's only something like ten people that actually post in the SF threads and about 1000 lurkers.

Huge apartment tower and Whole Foods to land
By Emily Fancher – Deputy Managing Editor, San Francisco Business Times
Jun 28, 2018, 2:11pm

The 503-unit apartment tower at 8th and Market Streets is expected to wrap up in 2021.

The massive Trinity Place apartment project is under construction on its fourth and final phase. The 503-unit apartment tower at 8th and Market Streets is expected to wrap up in 2021. The Arquitectonica-designed, $340 million tower is being built by Swinerton. A 55,000-square-foot Whole Foods, the largest in the city, will open on the ground floor, along with a food hall.

I didn't know about the Whole Foods but it will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I hope it doesn't chase away Market On Market though.

The cross supports are now 3 levels deep. There are so many now it is difficult to sort them. Note the 3 construction vehicles at work on the bottom level.

I think Market on Market will be totally fine. I live across from it and it's far more popular as a pseudo-food hall slash "I live across the street or work above and need to pick up 1-2 things". I never see people buy more than 3-4 things there. But they probably make most of their $$$ by renting out to the stands, many of which are enormously popular (Poke always has a line, pizza stand, they unveiled their new taco menu which is popular, always a wait for Azalina's). Especially as they keep adding new residential nearby.

A view from the 27th floor of the Fox Plaza two blocks distance away with a telephoto lens. I can't count the number of cross supports there are now as there are so many. You can see some of the equipment at the bottom, the hint of blue & yellow colors.

Looks to me like a concrete pumper. I think I can see the hose. But at first I was thinking it was a pile driver.

2nd Crane Installation 12/22/2018

The temporary red crane is installing the 2nd crane which is a grey & white crane. The white & red crane has been in place for a few weeks now. We should start to see some above ground action soon.

Frankly I've got my fingers crossed that all these Mid-Market residential projects FINALLY induce more police attention to this worst of San Francisco's homeless havens (IMHO the characters that hang out here are more aggressive than anywhere else--even the heart of the TL). There should be constant and continuous foot patrolling--maybe the residents of these new buildings will demand it.
