All I can say is I'm super jealous of Cherapa Place going up in SF. Should be in Fargo. Is a major company going into that building, or is it going to be a mixed use building?

mixed use. McDowell Rogers insurance is the main tenant and owner of the land.

No, It has not started construction yet because I think they were waiting on the post office to see if they wanted to put a new location inside one of the buildings...well there was a greater need for them in the gulf coast area after their storms so they decided to invest down there so here we are today.

Is it going in the lot where the new post office was supposed to go? The open lot near the old bus terminal location? Where did you find out about the building, it looks interesting.

i think those two lots are owned by the city, whose plans i'm not sure of. It would be nice to get something built there soon though, there's a ton of room. i park my car in the garage next to those lots, hopefully prices wont go up if something's built there though!

Right now, it's just an urban wasteland. At one point in time that is where they were going to put the new post office.

I think paving it is a temp plan. If i'm not mistaken, isn't that some of the land the city just bought for a possible comined city/county government building? i know the city bought some land for what was termed a future "government mall" area. they'd just be paving it until sioux falls and minnehaha county's administrative offices were so cramped they had no choice but to build.

the interesting questions after that are would lincoln county be included? after all between 15-20 thousand of SF's residents are in LC. also could lincoln county be included with that land being in minnehaha county? i wonder if the law prohibts a county from owning buildings in another county. either way the image probably wouldn't look that great to people in canton or lennox.

But you have to remember...this is sioux falls. When do we ever do anything quickly? Now that has nothing to do with the city but it has to stop caring so much when a person complains about a project or we will not get anything done.

The city has a lot of people moving into it, but too many people are dragging their feet on building new public facilities such as a new events center and the Drake Springs indoor pool debate. Rapid City's arena is larger and they're planning on building a larger one. The same goes for the suburbs. It took 4 votes before Hartford decided to build a new school and 3 for Harrisburg only after cutting it to its bear bones.
