great tower proportions so far . . great base . .
I only hope the crown notches get taller than I see so far . .
(they're important) . . then the crown should be nice . .
especially lit at night . . I was never all that worried about 35HY,
after I saw the final renderings . .
this 1039 ft beauty of David Childs,
along with the darker 910 ft, DS&R 15HY tower,
make for great foreground buildings for the main
KPF Hudson Yards Focal complex (10 & 30) . .
It's old news that I'm not enamored with the vessel . .
But I hate that contraption less, and love 15HY more,
than I did when seeing their finalized renderings . .
I do now appreciate 15's soft sensual curviness, in her upper reaches
. . while most of the base is merely cold & mediocre . .
the structure of the attached shed is riveting steam-punk excellence . .
though its outer covering, well, . . I haven't seen that much of it . .
what I did see, looked inferior . .
But NYC tower crowns, play the most significant role
in my assessment of tall skyscrapers . . up there they can inflict
the most damage on the city . . or they can uplift the whole town . .
that's why they're most important to me . .
So overall, the 4 tall buildings of the central
pivotal district of the eastern section of the HY development
(35, 15, 10, & 30HY), . . are pretty successful . .
. . but while these 4 are lookin' pretty awesome,
at this point, sorry to say, I've generally a poor appraisal of
most other new large glass buildings (planned, finished, & under
construction) in the HY area . .
