Yes and unfortunately enough it’s in the middle of downtown Toronto.

I was looking at the skyline of St Johns and honestly even though it’s been the butt of many jokes on this thread I would like to formally nominate The Rooms for pretty much ruining St Johns’s amazing skyline.

Seriously it looks like it was plopped down with no thought whatsoever. The fact that everything else is so beautiful just brings out how ugly it is.

Yes Shitty's can give Ches's a run for its money. A good rule of thumb is any restaurant with exposed ceiling tile is awful.

You guys are nuts, the Calgary tower even though it is dated and now way too small is still an important part of that cities history. I love it. The Harbour Centre tower was put up at a time where revolving restorants were all the rage and why not build it there? The views are incredible. The building with the domes on top is not bad at all and example of that PoMo style can be found in almost every city. As for the Scotia Bank Theatre it was built where the area was surrounded by big night clubs that all tried to stand out with loud designs. The scale of the building actually seems to fit quit well now with the neighbourhood.

That is why it was Clockzilla's first foe. It has the same domineering and ugly presence over the rest of the city as Clockzilla does. In fact, they are about equal in that department. The Venetian doesn't dominate Edmonton's skyline at least.

A rather challenging foe, a great start. This image summarizes perfectly my problems with The Rooms. Not how everything else looks near perfect except for The Rooms which is just lurking on top of the hill screwing up the picture.

I agree about the Calgary tower. I like it more since they repainted it in silver and red and added LED's at night.

That is amazing. Niagara Falls seems like the tackiest city in Canada.

Oh they repainted it? Does it look significantly different? I think LED’s would look cool on the Calgary Tower

Also one of the busiest downtowns.

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned the drug trip known as Crossiron Mills? The exterior is equally awful.

This office building in Laval takes the sins of the building in Brampton to the next level. It’s just a bland building with red dots to make it look “upbeat” and “colourful”.

These red brick atrocities in Gatineau belong here.

Those are some of my favourite buildings in Gatineau...they have a fair form and a nice bulk to them. Their use reflects the architecture, and they pose as a fair symbolic element to Gatineau for some, but can be regarded as symbolic of other elements.

I see nothing wrong with those. The massing is good, they're large without crowding each other too much. They look institutional, but so does most of the Ottawa region.

Not gonna lie I actually like a lot of the modernist structures posted on the last several pages of this thread. Even some of the post-modern stuff (Mississauga City Hall) is well done and a good example of the style.

The real dreck are the suburban strip malls and new residential developments.
