Interesting.

IS there any actual evidence that the building is behind schedule? Last that was reported on the matter was, in fact, the opposite.

considering the permit sign says late 2018 completion I doubt its behind schedule. I can't see how they can't be ahead with such a padded schedule.

Not sure why you guys think things are behind schedule. It's April 2017. Crews are working 6-7 days a week, 12 hrs a day+. It's full steam ahead. Glass is climbing again. Seemed they were focusing on interior work. The diagonal braces are being installed on 19th Street side. All is well. No worries here. Chill people.

They were doing something on the top floor yesterday, but I still don't see any signs of upward movement at that level. It's interesting to see how long it's been since there has been any growth of the building.

I think the main reason is that vertical progress came to a screeching halt months ago; yea there's much more to the project than erecting the last couple hundred feet but it is certainly the most noticeable thing when you look at the building day after day & it's the same height it was at the end of 2016.

Ahead, on, or behind schedule is kinda irrelevant out here in the peanut gallery

I spoke with a worker on the building and he said that the cooling towers and Spire will start in a month after the roof has concrete poured and dryed on the top of it

The Schuylkill Yards towers will also stand out nicely here!

When looking at a building such as this from afar, it's easy to forget about the amount of work that goes into it. Looking at all of that glass and imagine each piece of it being put in its place one by one... that must be a tedious process. And to see people installing that glass 700 feet up... that must seem very daunting.

If anyone wants to know what this would look like with brighter glass and an additional setback, look at Chicago's Wolf point project

It looks like a really bad copy. It kind of throws out everything that makes the CTC itself.
The CTC has an emphasis on industrialism and industrial design, showing lots of iron and steel supports and diagonal crossbeams lining the east and west facades.
This Chicago project just takes that whole mindset and throws it out the window and clads it entirely in glass.
I don't like it. It doesn't shout anything at you like the CTC does.

The 1901 Arch thread is closed until Comcast announces something ... but the demolition of the Child Advocates building must be happening very soon... this fence surrounding the building (below) appeared either over the weekend or yesterday. Demolition notices for March 2017 were already on the building.

To refresh people's memories...

"In December (2014), Liberty Property Trust acquired 120-22 N. 19th St., a small two-story building occupied by the Support Center for Child Advocates. The site is on the corner of 19th and Cherry streets and the building is 8,700 square feet.

Liberty has also made a move to buy Russell Byers Charter School at 1911-13 Arch St. The building totals 55,000 square feet (still no deal). Other properties it has acquired include: 102-18 N. 19th St.; 100 N. 19th St.; and 1919-23 Arch St.

Commercial real estate sources have said that a third Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) tower is in the works and that bidding on the project is in the initial stages."

One step at a time ...
