Hey schultze, that's AWESOME. I so wanted to do a stadium and/or arenas. I love the interior; it's like being in a real one.

It's been ages since I been back here at SSP, I hope to get back in the 3D game.

Thanks for sharing, and Happy Holidays!

Great job!

But, I don't know how the Wings/Detroit would have the money to build a new arena.

Genius.

So they bought a backyard lawn shed and made it as big as a city block and supposedly knocking down more historic buildings to leave another vacant.

Years ago Mike Illitch had a Foxtown plan and it was to build 3 or 4 new stadiums and make the downtown the home for all Detroit sports teams.

The problem still remains as to what to do with the old unused structures as The Silverdome sits vacant, Tiger stadium is gone, and Joe Louis still holds conventions auto shows..as well as the Red Wings but The Palace is/was too new and no one thought it made sense to abandon that for a new stadium downtown.

The area is a mostly empty lot and vacant buildings currently and it would fill in that horrible blight along Woodward but really a bland design.

Agreed, not the best placement of the arena, but it still is a great design.

Theres nothing on that site so no buildings would be demoed. JLA has to go. It's in the way of a future Cobo Center expansion. But a pistons/wings stadium should be considered, not two separate facilities.

Btw I like the nod to the old Olympia Stadium here.

i like that it's an older, more traditional design but at a scale that is appropriate for modern venues.

it's inspiring me to create my own spin off version! i've always wanted to do a stadium as well.

And even if there was it's not like the Hotel Eddystone is a gem.

Eddystone and harbor light buildings have always been proposed as being part of a larger "complex" of buildings near the arena. Otherwise Ilitch probably would have flattened them years ago.

I can dig it, it's a classic design and influenced from a former structure in Detroit - Image found here http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...na_Detroit.jpg

Question is, what about the Pistons ? Any plans to move them in also ?
