What type of food is that?

Great to hear something is going there so soon. I was initially fearful that Ole Gourmet's old spot would be hard to fill. It's great that they're "movin' on up" to a bigger space, and good that another of those store fronts on King near Locke is filled (I believe that space was a Jamaican place before this, and not for too long). They have dedicated clientele from what I hear from people who like it, so maybe it will raise awareness as to how terrible King Street is.

Brux House on Locke Street South has been nominated as one of the best new restaurants by Air Canada's in-flight magazine. It is one of thirty-two nominees for an eventual 'Top 10' list to appear in the magazine. The award is by vote at www.eatandvote.com

There are no other Hamilton restaurants on the list.

That Mattson link doesn't make sense. What am I not understanding?

Looks like a few parts of the website are updated/legit and the rest is still just parts of the template that they still need to update.

It does say Hamilton, On at the bottom though, haha.

Have a look at the phone number on the bottom, beside 'Hamilton,On'.

Check out this Spec Flashback: Restaurant Memories. Lots of nostalgia here (pics and writing)... some of these places are long gone, some are still around.

^Some great memories there.

Restaurants come and go with great regularity - important to keep that in mind sometimes...

As soon as the permits get approved, which should be any day now. Construction is pretty much all done, they're just waiting on the final permits from the city that unfortunately take forever for reasons unknown to anyone.

If only it had originally been located on the ground floor of a 40-storey tower. Could have made all the difference.

The service would have seemed better... it would have felt more pristine... the food would have tasted like it was on an entirely other higher level

I'm sure the place would have scared me just as much. (Weren't they the ones that used picnic tables instead of real tables and chairs?)
