Haha.. that's the point: for people to post the best photos they've taken. I think the results are going to be really cool. Thanks for being the first to do it Derek!

PS - your last shot was best!

This thread is going to be totally whacked in the best way crisp444. Great idea and I've really got to start looking through city photos when you guys post.

Picking ten is pretty difficult, but here's ten that are probably in the top-100 anyway. I've skipped Patagonia, The Rockies, Regina, Winnipeg, Ottawa and a shoebox full of slides, but I think all of these have been my desktop background at some point (except Delovely, which hasn't dethroned orange, yet).

1) Tulips in Forest Park.

2) Tree reflection in Forest Park.

3) A leaf.

4) Pontiac Bonneville

5) Recoleta Cemetary, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

6) Delovely.

7) Sunrise, near Tulum, Mexico.

8) Great Forest Park Balloon Festival.

9) Daffodils watching the interstate.

10) "Think of all the colours under the sun, there's only one colour I think much fun, and that's orange, orange I said, the silly old colour who lives next to red." -- Ken Nordine

Thanks for the Quickr Pickr tip. I'll use it to post ten of my photos, which aren't neither my ten favourite or ten "best" photos, but the most "interesting" (according to the Flickr-users) photos on my Flickr page.

Click the pics for large size.

Wow, this is a great thread!

@crisp: Lovely photos from Italy! Makes me long back.

@ Derek: I love that first shot of yours - very cool.

@ Mancuso: Very nice rainbow pic!

@ HIMS: Great!! I specially like the leaf and the cemetary.

@ Boquillas: Beautiful. Cypress roots: Amazing!

@ staff: Great shots! I know it's not your best pics - but good enough!

--------

Yeah, it was really hard to pic 10 favorites. I have 2567 photos at PBase, so it took me a while to choose. A very painfull elimination process - you can't pic favorites among your children! Anyways here are 10 of my best IMO.

Malmö 2006

Malmö 2005

Blekinge 2005

Lund 2006

Rome 2007

Venice 2006

Lodz 2005

Odessa 2002

Moscow 1994

Moscow 1994

a quickr pickr post (thanx for the tip - that's just great)

I was just thinking about this the other day. Great idea for a thread. I'll only include pictures taken with the digital since I have so few film pictures available to post. Also I have really enjoyed having a digital; feeling free to take pictures when I want and not worrying about not having enough film for the shots I want.
  1. - Firewood in our backyard covered in ice last January during an ice storm.

  2. - Austin's former tallest, the One American Center and part of Austin City Hall at the bottom.

  3. - Flowers in a vacant lot near our house.

  4. - More ice from last January. I had a blast photographing the scene. I just about froze to death doing it, though. For the better part of 3 days we didn't get above freezing and it was either raining or sleeting/snowing.

  5. - The Beauford Tower, (a bell tower), looking through a gazebo on Town Lake.

  6. - Last February we went to Abilene, Texas. After driving around in their flooded streets after they got dumped on by heavy storms which produced tornados northwest of the city, we headed home. On the way back we went through a storm. I tried getting some shots of the lightning, but even with the burst mode didn't capture any even though it was lightning like crazy. I did get this one shot as a small bolt formed in the cloud and lit it up. This photo sums up perfectly how surreal that day was with the weather.

  7. - One of our amaryllis in the yard.

  8. - A shot from the Austin forum meet last December. The day started off a bit cloudy and almost overcast, but the clouds broke and the sun came out making for a nice day for photos. I saw this small building and liked the scene. I have no idea what building this is other than it's in the West End and some kind of small office building.

  9. - An alley in downtown Waco, Texas. I like the colors and all the mechanical junk.

  10. - A fountain in Waco.

^Proving that great photos are the result of the person behind the camera.

Damn, Tokyo was clear for you. I probably saw it at its worst.

No, it is just that a digicam with a tripod can be ok (all but one was using a tripod). Yeah, the Tokyo photos are from May '06, so the summer smog hadn't really hit yet. But, it was only sunny 3 of the 10 days I was there.
