Attention always goes to the head. Not enough to the shaft.

Hopefully the attention the Calgary tower is getting leads to more buildings putting in attractive architectural lighting. The Bay building for instance is embarrassing. Hopefully they do something as part of the new restaurant that's going in there.

Hoarding going up along the Stephen Ave side, I assume resto work has started there.

That's only a small portion of the show and about a tenth of what it can do. It's pretty cool, but tacky at the same time. Definitely puts life back in the old boy. I think they should incorporate a dragon with the flame and call it the the Tower of Thrones

I'm surprised The Bow doesn't have more distinct crown lighting, what's up with that?

When did they install lights that shine down the shaft of the tower? It looks decent but not great since they only light up the top 1/5 of the shaft.

It may have been part of the original install. I first noticed it during Stampede. I agree that full shaft lighting is needed.

Because it would create shadowing.

I'd love to see them clad the shaft, composite aluminum panels or something would look great, even paint would be better than the stained, raw concrete.

My guess is because the view of the shaft is blocked from most angles.

I think they should project veins of light down the length of the shaft.

Overall I think the new lighting looks great. Between the paint job and LEDs, the tower is a lot more "relevant" looking now than a decade ago.
