Of course what's in front of the camera helps a good photo. However, I've seen lots of shitty photos of some pretty awesome scenes and some awesome photos of something mundane.

I have a Pentax that's waterproof, I bought it for snowboarding.

Oh god! No way in hell you'd get me out onto that ridge!

Just how "fleet of foot" did you have to be to get out there? Tell me you had a remote for the camera and were not racing against a timer!
