At first glance it does look a little gratuitous. What's the function of the two flying slabs?

Hopefully to cover some rooftop study space, or at least to collect rainwater for toilets, and capture sun to generate electricity.

Yep, they're solar panels. It's Hamilton's first zero carbon building that'll generate more energy than it consumes.

That's cool, I can accept a couple non-gratuitous Alsopian slabs if that's their purpose.

The captured rainwater has to go somewhere, so hopefully to a cistern on the top floor.

I have a class in that building once a week, and I can tell you it is a very nice addition. Very bright and welcoming and the main floor study area is very nice (il be posting pictures in coming days). But something that needs to be addressed very soon is Fennel Ave, The roads are TREACHEROUS, it's almost as bad as how Main West was during the winter.

Gally Area inside the Innovation Building (EA WING)

Construction is still ongoing and a cafe will be built in that area as well. Looks like there are 6+ lab classrooms, 2 lecture halls and 1 lecture classroom (don't quote me). Each floor has 3 restrooms (male, female, neutral)
