Matthews performed really well. Will be great to have as a backup QB and potential starter in the future.

/\ what's your opinion of the stadium? Did you have good seats... use the concessions?

Everything seemed to go smoothly at the stadium in the section I was in. There was no lineup at the concessions when I went at half time and only a small line at the washroom. The stadium was only half full though even though they said it was sold out. I guess we'll have to wait for the regular season to find out how it really performs.

Based on what I saw though it shouldn't be nearly as bad as it was for the soccer game. And yes the team is looking good this year. Matthews made some great plays and that new running back (#19? forget his name) is pretty impressive.

Hamilton won’t bid for Grey Cup until stadium litigation is settled

http://3downnation.com/2017/03/24/ha...ation-settled/

The City of Hamilton will not partner with Hamilton Tiger-Cats in a Grey Cup bid until the lawsuits surrounding the construction of Tim Hortons Field have been resolved.

“We can’t do any business with them when there’s litigation outstanding,” city councillor Sam Merulla said Friday.

The Calgary Stampeders and the Edmonton Eskimos are the only two teams bidding for the right to host the 2018 Grey Cup game. Calgary last hosted the league’s championship showcase in 2009 while the game was played in Edmonton the following year. The 2017 Grey Cup game is set to be hosted in Ottawa, an event that coincide with country’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

Hamilton, meanwhile, hasn’t hosted a Grey Cup since 1996. But Ticats CEO Scott Mitchell says the team can’t move forward with a bid without the support of city council.

4 years later, Hamilton's Tim Hortons Field stadium still isn't finished

We could have had a Grey Cup by now.

CANADIAN FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM TO OFFICIALLY RELAUNCH ON CLUB LEVEL AT TIM HORTONS FIELD IN 2018

http://ticats.ca/canadian-football-h...field-in-2018/

The Canadian Football Hall of Fame (CFHOF) and Museum, in conjunction with the Canadian Football League (CFL) and City of Hamilton, announced Thursday that the third and final phase of the CFHOF and Museum’s relocation process to Tim Hortons Field will be completed in time for the start of the 2018 CFL season.

The completely redesigned and refurbished 10,000 square foot club level at Tim Hortons Field will feature all 296 Hall of Fame busts on display, state-of-the-art digital technology integration, plus interchangeable displays highlighting many curated artifacts dating back to the origins of Canadian football. The climate controlled space, which spans 110 yards from goal line to goal line, also features premium amenities back dropped by beautiful vistas of the playing field and Hamilton’s escarpment.

tl;dr: "museum that is being moved because nobody visits it is being relaunched at a stadium that isn't finished 3 years after opening"

It certainly didn't help when City Hall put their new sign directly in front of the HoF sign. If that doesn't scream "please leave," I don't know what does.

They should've just moved it to Regina or some place where people actually care, since they averaged only about 5 visitors a day here.

Slapping together a crappy HOF in a blase/barebones stadium is amateur hour.
Imagine the uproar if they shoved the Hockey HOF to a corner of the Saddledome arena in Calgary.

I don't care for the fact this doesn't seem like a very accessible plan. Club seat holders will be entertained by it, but how many of us who sit in the regular stands? Plus the limited hours of operation.

King George school sits empty across Balsam Ave., awaiting a buyer and a new purpose. Put the CFHoF in there with the city museum idea that's been bandied about lately.

Got a season ticket holder email and in it they say the Ticats are moving head offices to 500 Sherman Avenue N, which seems like a strange location to me. Wondering what is going to happen with their downtown building.

They plan on opening up a steel mill on site too?

That's weird. I know they did a lot of upgrades to the Jarvis St building when THF was being built and that was their only home outside Guelph.

I feel like that address is incorrect. Google maps says it would be somewhere far North of Burlington Street on a part of the street that isn't even accessible to the public cause its in Port Authority land.

They couldn't find an empty building or a large storefront at Barton St E for a HQ?

Well thats screwed up. They definitely won't have any sort of public operations there if you have to trespass just to get to it.

Huh, I thought THF was going to have their offices? Very strange choice.
