The Cultural Imprint of Miami (Beyond Golden Girls references)

Miami is nice, so I'll say it twice (through this second thread of photos).

Here's the second set from the mega-Spring Break road trip journey... with emphasis on the Wynwood distirct and Vizcaya Museum - two amazing places that remind us of the unique cultural identity found in Miami.

Spring Break 2016 Series:
I hope you enjoy!

A brief stop in Mobile and a deeper look at New Orleans is next (should be posted by this weekend, I'd suspect):

Much love,
TNTD

Beautiful photos and an excellent reminder of what makes Miami one of the most unique cities in the nation. I really like the photos of the street art. Very impressive.

I take it a lot of the grafitti shots are from Wynwood? I was only recently made aware this area existed and it makes Miami seem much more interesting to me.

i've never been over to wynwood, i've generally been content walking around the back end of miami beach or whatever on short trips. i'll have to check it out next time (next winter/spring, maybe).

this shot reminds me of Bloodlines, or something.

Wynwood is Miami's Puerto Rican enclave and also home to what was a large fashion and textiles industry hence the huge amount of warehouses that gives the area a creepy feel to it at night.

Here is a great photo essay on the Wynwood art scene by our late SSP member QuantumX that is worth checking out :

Miami is such an interesting place. I knew it was an arts hub, but it seems like it should be more recognized by now. Love the pictures!
