It appears that permanent lighting has been installed on the top of the building.

As the sun moves further south some interesting colors on 181. I had not seen the red before reflected.

Note the crane on the left of 181 Fremont - I think this is the Park construction crane. I will not be able to see the Park tower from my apartment building.

The spire is finally fully unwrapped and looking good! I love seeing the red light on top at night too.

As an interesting historical note, Timothy Pflueger was selected as the architect of the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Building in 1923. He was also on the original Board of Trustees of what was to become SFMOMA, so his monumental structure now serves as the museum's backdrop. Pflueger designed many prominent Bay Area structures, including 450 Sutter, the Oakland Paramount, the Alameda Theatre, the Castro Theatre, I. Magnin, and numerous others.

^^It's surely an optical illusion but to my eye the spire still looks like its tilted somewhat outward from the vertical. Perhaps these architects should have taken a cue from the Parthenon whose columns lean inward slightly so as to appear vertical.

Some of us had noticed the "black" spot at roof level on the cross beam. I noticed this morning that it is now gone.

Now to see what looks like a gap on the vertical beam filled.

I too have noticed that the spire looks like it is slanted to the left from my view in the civic center. I've come to realize that one side of the spire is in fact straight, the side tapers to the north which gives the illusion that the whole spire it is leaning, which it is not.

viewguysf - Yes, I am with you on this. It is my favorite new high rise. If I had the money I would consider moving into the building even though I would probably not have the view that I have now as a lot of buildings are going up around 181 Fremont.
