Not bad, not bad at all. I think this is about as best as you can ask for on a corner like this. And it fits well with the other new skyscraperlets in the area.

I'm intrested to see what they will do with the base.

The base is supposed to be more retail for the retail-rich Herald Square area.

Yeah, they really skimped on the quality of the glass. It's wavy, and the spandrel glass is just terrible. Though the clear glass should light up nicely at night when the retail is filled.

I really like the wavy glass, I don't see any quality problems. It's the base that's a let down, although it's not done yet either.

though if you look directly from 7th down i think 39th st. you can see NYT in the same angle from the fashion bldg.

The base isn't so bad as everyone seems to think. I never expected it to be a groundbreaking skyscraper and the tower as a whole is pretty streamlined. It is what it was supposed to be: decent-quality infill.
