Such pretty buildings... Such ugly little cars...

And the city is as dense as Jessica Simpson.

I can't wait to visit Paris for the first time, I'm counting the days. I do have to say I'm feeling a bit itimadated by this city. Never have I felt this way visiting any other city. I think perhaps its because I don't know the language, but thats not all since I've been to other cities that aren't english speaking. Probably a combination of the two, language, and the fact that French people aren't too fond of Americans.

You can see the Trocadero and the collines de Passy.
The photo shows the right bank of the Seine, across the Eiffel Tower.

Again, a very good collection of photographs. One question: do they serve beer in wine glasses at Parisian cafés? This photograph has me wondering.

Great pictures of probably the most aesthetically pleasing and culturally significant city in the world.

I've seen this as well, in Paris and elsewhere. Not a wine glass per se, but they use stemmed glasses quite often in Benelux as well (notice that Stella Artois billboards in the U.S. typically show the beer in a stemmed glass). This is actually becoming pretty trendy in general - a lot of nicer bars in NYC or restaurants will serve beer in a stemmed glass.

Bound to happen when you've got uncontrolled immigration from the former colonies and a growing population of disaffected Arabs in the banlieue who won't or can't assimilate into French society...

Great series - Paris looking tres beau as always xxx

(btw Ken in Halifax - those are beer glasses, not wine glasses. They often serve beer in glasses like that in Europe - the pint glass is more of an English/ German/ Dutch invention... at least, I think so..)

Great photos, as always. Paris is now on top of my travel list.

@ Ken - for example the Belgian beer Leffe is served in that kind of glasses. They are heavier and thicker than wine glasses.

Sure, the racism and the already rampant anti-Semitism cannot be ignored. But this is Europe we're talking about.

So what's your take on Paris, ColDay? Dubba, Plinko (I think) and others seemed to think it was just "OK".

Racism? Can't be much worse than home as long as no one's chasing you with a pike. But I am curious to hear more of ColDay's opinions on the city.
