its looking good - at least there didn't seem to be any crackheads hanging out - last time i was there there was a bunch near the north end hanging out - i think they come from the nearby social housing building

Has that Laundromat been torn down yet?

And your blind supposition is exactly why the west side is so terrified of social housing, skytrain, poor people, and community services.

The park looks beautiful, would have loved the water features as a kid.

Great park. Now, the crappy Money's dry-cleaning bulding hasn't been torn down yet, but the rest of the park expansion is 90% complete. Please tell me they will be opening that large 2nd section sooner rather than waiting for the final 10% to be complete (which will take months).

what? there was a group of people hanging out at the end of the park - they were very sketchy they were coming out of the housing next door - and they did not like us taking pictures - they kept giving us dirty looks and muttering under their breath about cameras and pictures - so we scooted out of that part of the park

did not feel welcomed at all

Ah if you saw them coming out, my apologies. In your initial post you said "i think they were coming out of social housing" as in social housing = crackheads, evidence or no.

Thanks everyone.

I was doing Coldrsx a solid and it was a gorgeous night to be out and about with a camera. In fact it was my intention to take some photos of the park that got me downtown and I ended up covering a lot of ground and even ended up high above it all at the Vancouver Lookout.

maybe its a little mean to call them crackheads but they do make for a very intimidating bunch

most people enjoying the park don't even notice and enjoy it but these ones really made me and my friend feel like we had stepped into the the wrong place

last night at the fireworks some woman from the DTES asked my friend for a smoke and than she went on and on and on and on to the point where my friend wanted to leave out prime spot to avoid her - no offense to them but they really know how to intimidate people

Seems weird it's still there. I thought it would have been demolished a while ago.
