A LOT of blue plastic removed on the northern face. Gotta snag a pic tomorrow.

Lolol. I was anxious to see the tape come down but I see you have a true hatred for it.

Yeah, all of the blue tape is off of the north side of the hotel portion. I have concerns. It looks...weird. I think it would have looked a lot better had it been beveled like the office portion.

There is now a white blinking light at the top of the lantern. I saw it this morning driving eastbound on Lancaster Avenue in Wynnewood.

Really? Hopefully it's just because you're used to seeing it with the tape at this point. I haven't seen it yet. I hope it looks good I was really starting to like the building.

I have few virtues and patience isn't one of them.

I really want to like the building as well, and for the most part I do. I was wary about the silver trim on the hotel portion but wasn't going to judge it until the blue tape was off. Now that it is, my initial reaction is not great. Hopefully, I just need to get used to it and then it'll come together.

I think it looks amazing, to be honest. Really completes the building.

Not great quality but pretty far for a phone camera. By the zoo (34th St.).

in those pictures it looks like they've started closing the gap on the last few floors of the spine, is that right & if so can anyone that's seeing it in person tell if it matches the glass below or the different type that's on the lantern itself?

Here is a little bit closer from earlier today. It does look like a slightly different color, at least from the vantage point I was at to the west.

The blue film removed from hotel section on the north side - sorry it's not a better picture.

Vastly improves the surfacing/texturing. Looks less like a giant blue block and much more like the sleek tower that it is.

Besides the final portion of the spine being zipped up (I agree that the materials look a bit different), I noticed something interesting today concerning the part of the lantern that extends down to the point where the spine is not yet completed. It appeared that a thin bar of light (like a smaller version of what's being tested further up the lantern) was glowing. As I left town it wasn't on, but I thought I saw a fainter glow of a single bar a floor or two higher.
