Low grade may be an exaggeration but it's evident it's not exactly top-of-the-line, especially when compared to the curtainwall cladding of Brookfield Place. Just look at the picture of both developments on the last page.

Well - seems like YSL needs to change positions on the list judging by the latest news on Urban Toronto

The glass will likely look much better once the blue film is peeled off.

4. Eau du Soleil - Sky Tower (Toronto): 228.2m / 749ft
Taken from right near the CN Tower, a good distance from these two:

Stantec has 2 more concrete floors to go the 2 more of steel. Looks the concrete pump was dismantled at street level today. The rest will be done by bucket.

Brookfield Place's facade is entirely glass. IIRC, Telus Sky has more expensive triple glazed glass panels.

Im looking at Telus Sky again, and I think the cladding was a solid choice. I feel it might actually emphasize the unique form more than if it was all glass curtainwall.

I think when all the low rises and parking lots in the downtown core and nearby subway stations are built out, that's when we'll see the REAL supertalls getting approved.

Wiith a height of the former CIBC tower (Commerce Court East), I'm happy with the impact Bay Park Centre will have. If the two towers weren't so similar in stature I'd be more happy to see them rise, but they'll serve as a formidable development nonetheless. The rail park will be pretty neat.

Taller would be nice but CIBC is still the tallest office tower for Toronto to be built in a quarter century. We are making progress!

Steel going up at Stantec which means any day/week now it will surpass BP in Calgary as the tallest tower west of Toronto.

Great shot Chad! Really liking the execution on the project, and the creative use of the space between this new building and the modernist structure adjacent to it.

Good to hear that Stantec is nearly at it's final height.....it seems as though it could go on forever haha.

Absolutely, and the part we are all waiting for with baited breath is the reclad of the adjacent buildings. They are both leased by Telus, I think as like data cores or something? Either way, it'll give that block a really cool dichotomy with the extremely ultramodern north side of the block, and the extremely historic (by western standards) south side of the block being buildings all built over 110 years ago.
