It's not shorter and doesn't look shorter from most angles. In person, it's clearly taller. That's just how it appears in most of these picture angles. Some of these are from before it was topped out too.

Are you talking about the building directly to the left of it? This eclipses that building. CDR submission had the height of this at 200 feet dead even.
Maybe it's just an optical illusion. But when I took that picture, the Terra Building (directly north) looked like it was definitely taller than the Cambria Hotel.
It's surprising that it says it'll open in Winter of 2018 on the billboard.
You're surprised it would take till then/that long or surprised it can be ready to deliver by then? Seems about right to me. 10 months or so to finish the cladding and build the interiors. They also have to declad and reclad the adjacent lowrises.

Surprised it'll take that long. I can't say I know whats realistic, but getting this thing cladded by the end of the summer appears possible. Though you're right about the adjacent building...
