i like the anti-nuclear signs too, cool thing to keep present in people's minds. i think the north vancouver one at the seabus terminal is still there.

i also like how normal every day stuff that mayors and councils the world over (like take symbolic stands that signpost community values) do is logged on here with scorn and ridicule and sarcasm. very weird.

It's great to see that our beloved mayor doesn't know the difference between metallurgical coal and thermal coal.

Most of the stuff leaving BC gets turned into steel, which is why we can afford to ship it so far. Thermal coal for the most part isn't worth shipping very far and generally gets burnt for power as close to the mine as possible.
