Given that the target completion date is sometime in 2020, when should we expect the demolition to commence?

It's going to be amazing walking through Central Park and seeing all these glass sentinels rising above the trees.

As amazing as it is, that picture shows only about 1/2 of the planned towers on Billionaire's Row, with towers like 123 W57th, 31 W57th, the Hasadah Tower, Shvo Tower and a bunch of others I can't remember right now not being shown. Add in 666 5th, 1 Vanderbilt, a bunch of towers resulting from the Midtown Rezoning and we have a new skyline fit for the new century.

Does that include the large Extell land next to 111w 57th?

^I'm almost completely sure. Because it is in between One57 and Steinway. That could be a big tower like this Park Lane development.

Just imagine when those gaps begin to fill in!

They get rid of JR, who was actually really useful when it came to NYC, but Cynicism gets to stay and spew his negativity. Lives by his username I guess. Deeply negative I've noticed.

So really, we lost JR and VG, because VG hasn't posted since he was banned. Two big losses for NYC on SSP all because people are to sensitive and girly like and can't take his humor. Man up people.

Well stated Chris. Vg and Jr both had great insight and always posted when news was available, making this forum much more content filled and worth my time. I hope they get to come back. I don't expect it though if they never gave rw another chance.

Anyways, back to the building.

I don't get it either. We keep people who do nothing but mindlessly troll, and ban people who provide useful info on projects.

Yes, it's truly a tragedy. Especially on a skyscraper site. The nerve of these developers, restoring the NYC skyline peaks.

If only we were getting tract homes and parking lots, all would be well...

+1 Both were great contributors. JR took pictures pretty much every other day of Midtown projects.

^True! Its been days since Ive seen good construction photos on some projects! Anyhow, this would be a bit wider than most of the 57th street towers under progress now? Right?

I want JR back, he had great info. It would be better that actual trolls got banned instead of quality posters like JR. Also, where is NYguy?

____

Regarding 36 Central Park South's demo, I'd expect it to begin soon, within the next 12 months.
