485 feet and its 43 floors. It will be the 4th tallest.

Recent news reports 500 feet, but they expect it to be below 500 feet. Closer to 485 feet. If it is 500 exact, than it will be the 3rd tallest.

Multiple sources do put it at 485 so I would question the accuracy of the 500 foot statement.

* Update: This story originally reported the proposed building at 414 Light St. would exceed 500 feet in height, making it the tallest building in Baltimore. Gorn has since clarified the height has not yet been determined, but he expects the building to be below 500 feet tall.

Udarp

In fact, this will increase the chances of getting a new tallest. Once all the waterfront sites are gone, there is no place to go but up to get water views.

300 E. Pratt St. project designed to
'make a statement about the future'

Quote:
Kevin Litten, Reporter- Baltimore Business Journal

A new tower proposed for the long-vacant site at 300 E. Pratt St. will stand as high as 430 feet
above the Inner Harbor and include a mix of 600 residential and hotel units and up to 20,000 square feet of retail.

City officials got a first look at the design of the building Thursday during a presentation made by HKS Architects,
which is designing the building for Reston, Va.-based Comstock Partners.
This will be Comstock's first entry into Baltimore real estate.

At 430 feet, the building would stand slightly higher than its neighbors but is about 100 feet shorter
than the city's tallest building three blocks west
.
An architect for the project described the project as being a nod to Baltimore's port history but modern in execution.

"We want to make sure this building is a distinctly Baltimore building," said Gregory A. Luongo,
vice president of HKS. "But at the same time, we want it to be a 21st-century building
and make a statement about the future."

The building has several design challenges, including dealing with new flood regulations adopted earlier
this year. Architects will have to place the Pratt Street entrance of the hotel a full 6.7 feet above the ground
ensure it's not affected by flooding. The site is also unusually narrow compared to other Inner Harbor parcels,
which accounts for the thin tower.

The decision to include 400 residential units will put the building in direct competition with a proposal for 414 Light St.,
which is proposing a similar number of retail and residential towers.
The 300 E. Pratt St. plan unveiled Thursday
is one of a series of proposals over the years. The lot was purchased by InterPark in August 2013
after a plan floated by Urban America LP in 2006 fell apart during the recession.
That proposal had included building a 50-story tower.

Bigger Whole Foods to open in Harbor East

The Bozzuto Group and H&S Properties Development Corp. are planning hundreds of residences and shopping in a new complex in Harbor East. (courtesy Hickok Cole Architects and The Bozzuto Group)

Quote:
Harbor East Management Group on Thursday formally announced the Whole Foods lease for 711 S. Central Ave., plans first discussed publicly two years ago.

The store will occupy the street level of a new building, which will contain about 290 luxury apartments and almost 50 condos, on the former site of Baltimore Contractors, now a parking lot, where Harbor East meets Fells Point and Harbor Point. The Bozzuto Group is working with Harbor East Management on the more than $100 million project, presented to neighborhood groups this fall.

"Whole Foods Market is often at the core of the most exciting developments in the country, and it is no different here in Harbor East," Harbor East Management Group President Tim O'Donald said. "It is a testament to the community and to Baltimore as a whole that the company is committed to deepening its relationship with Harbor East and further investing in the city."

The new store will replace the existing Whole Foods store two blocks away on Fleet Street, which opened in 2002. The new location, between Aliceanna and Lancaster streets, is expected to be roughly 50,000 square feet, more than double the size of its current store, with cafe seating on a secondfloor and two outdoor patios.
