They need lots of people to listen to you threaten to to stop their service until they give you a discount.

Taken yesterday. Busy site!

Edit: sorry for the low resolution. I took with my iPhone and didn't want the pic to be too grainy but I can make them bigger over the summer if people want more pics from this angle.

Yeah, I seem to be seeing more and more proposed or under-construction skyscrapers with these designs. They are starting to look like copycats, or at least "inspiring" each other.

Can you set up a webcam? Perfect vantage point for the first year of construction.

Unfortunately no, but I can continue to take pics from this spot periodically.

I'm really excited about this project. Too bad its quite a bit of a hike from where I work in the loop. I'm barely lucky enough to take a quick stroll to Vista to stair in amazement and grab a few shots.

I have 3 offices I switch between downtown. One of those offices is on the Mag Mile less than a 10 min walk from here. I've been finding reasons to be at this office more often now.

If only this weather would start cooperating... very wet May has not helped. Mid July we should see the site cut to LL1 except a berm around the secant wall. Coffer dams should go in around August for the cores. Trying to get to ground floor slab in December.

I've heard this one is going to be built "top down". What exactly does that mean? I imagine the idea is that you try to get going on work above grade sooner (as the weather will play less of a role) but what's the sequence then for the deep foundation?

Are they still planning to do the job that way?

Great little video - one of the big advantages of this method is that the floors provide the bracing for the walls - no need for all those long rakers - imagine this (Waterview) 1/4 block done on the full block sized site of One Chicago

Neat video.

But how is the dirt removed after the first slab is constructed?

In the video, the dirt seems to magically disappear.
