I wished this would have been more of a tower than a big long complex for such a main intersection.

Oddly enough, I find it appropriate and like the fact that there is a curve there for sunlight and variety.

Say what you will about Mayfair (and believe me, I have a lot to say about it myself), it really does help this part of downtown feel "complete."

I concur. It ties in well with the buildings in the immediate area while the curve gives it a nice presence. There's two other corners at this intersection (Jasper/108) that can be reserved for high-rise development and make the area become even more vibrant with activity.
